Engagement Session on the trails

It is no secret, Jake loves the outdoors. Every Saturday morning, our girls prepare themselves for the hike that Dad will suggest. “The woods are calling, and I must go,” most certainly applies to him. Not only does he enjoy hiking, but he loves trail running and endurance races. And over the past few years, he has gotten a bit more involved in the trail race community. He even started a new division of our company dedicated to trail running. You can check out Muddy Socks Photography to see more. I, on the other hand, didn’t get the memo on finding pain enjoyable. I will go out for a run, and it will be on the trails, but I top out at a 10K (and these days that might be pushing it!). Like Jake, Clorice and Phillips are endurance junkies. In fact, Jake got to run with Clorice at Live Loud Running’s crazy Slurpee run last summer.  -If you are an adventure seeker and pain junkie, you can check out the Live Loud line up here.- So we were quite excited when Clorice reached out to us for engagement session on the trails.

Clorice and Phillips are from completely different parts of the country, but grad school brought them together in CT. And it seems like the Northeast has won them over. They have loved exploring the trails and enjoying the outdoor adventure. While Clorice loves to run, Phillips prefers cycling. When there only photo request involved the woods, we were super excited for the opportunity to introduce them to a couple of our favorite trails. We we can combine photography with a little adventure, we are in! It isn’t often we can convince people to climb a waterfall during a session. We had so much fun with Clorice and Phillips. We were finally able to shoot at two locations we have wanted to use for years. And we got to test out our newest toy, the drone. Since they mentioned their love for ice cream, we made sure to bring them to the farm for treat when were done shooting.

Photos in the woods always seem to feel so magical. The bright greens, strong contrast, and texture are a beautiful backdrop. If you are up for engagement photos on the trails, let us know! To see more woodland magic, you can check out this winter wedding with some photos amongst the trees.
