People always ask us, “where do you suggest we go for photos?” Each time I have to restrain myself from responding like so…. “There is this amazing little nook on the side of the road that has dreamy light between 3:15 and 4:30PM. Want to meet there?”
Let’s be real. When you photograph families, the kiddos are in charge. They should have their sessions at a time that makes sense for their little schedules. I know I am NOT an easy person when I am hangry, so how can I expect that littles will be fine. Sometimes morning is better, and if you are like our family, we are NEVER out the door before 9AM. I need to get the wiggles out and so do they. While we would love to take photos in obscure places at golden hour, it isn’t always practical.
So we do the next best thing. We search for small and different nooks in the places we all know well. I suggested Elizabeth Park for this photo shoot, and I am beyond thrilled that we ended up here. Although the evening was a bit cloudier than anticipated, the light was perfect for all the colors. When walked around the park before the family’s arrival, we stumbled upon this tiny, perfect patch of flowers that fit so well with the color scheme. Also, I especially love the light on our favorite big tree and the field of flowers. It makes Elizabeth Park seem like a fairyland setting. Although we have been to Elizabeth Park many times, each season we find something new and different that keeps the photos fresh and unique. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do!
Thank you jake and Jess for capturing Our family at this special moment in time. You always choose the best locations and most beautiful spots. We love all the photos!
