Michelle & Scott–Brought To Life

Getting Ready: Simsbury Inn
Photos & Ceremony: Ethel Walker School & Chapel
Reception: The Riverview

Jake and I have been to the Riverview many times, and it is always a beautiful venue. However, Scott and Michelle went above and beyond transforming the Riverview from a just vision to a perfect celebration. They gave new meaning to the phrase, “bringing it to life.” Before I get to that part, let me rewind and start at the beginning.
We met Michelle and the girls at the Simsbury Inn for photos. It is always a nice place for bridal photos. We had a blast with the girls who were excited for their camera shots, and they brought fun to every photo. And I must mention that Michelle is absolutely gorgeous. I am not sure she could take a bad photo. After everyone was dressed and ready, Michelle and Scott opted for a first look. While we respect each couple’s individual decision on when to see each other, we love the idea of a first look. They had a private moment to talk with each other and share their excitement and anticipation of the day. Not to mention it provided us with plenty of time to get some beautiful photos.

After everyone was ready to go, we all headed over to the Ethel Walker Chapel. Jake and I live only 15 min from this beautiful campus. I pass it frequently each week and admire the grounds. So we were extremely excited to walk around the campus for photos. Campus has plenty of nooks for photos, and we tried our best to use as much as possible. The ceremony in the chapel was beautiful as well. It is a dream location with big bright windows. And for those wondering if a first look diminishes the moment when the bride walks down the aisle, I must mention that both Michelle and Scott had tears in their eyes as Michelle entered the Chapel and walked toward her groom.

With the ceremony complete, everyone was ready to head to the Riverview to party. And what a party it was for the guests! Jason at CT Party Pros did an awesome job helping this couple create their perfect day. They had wedding touches that we have yet to see which were fantastic to capture. In fact you can check out video on the Party Pros website to get a live idea of what I am about to describe. They brought in leather couches and bar to create a lounge in the reception room. They had both a DJ and a band, a photo booth, floor to ceiling white curtains flanking the dance floor, and dramatic lighting and centerpieces. The bar they brought in was to serve both classic and creative martinis to guests as they mingled during cocktail hour and the start of dinner. But most impressive of all was the live statues. People dressed as trees that swayed, moved, and handed out fortunes. A woman as a live plant was the centerpiece to the hors devours table. And last but not least was a grouping of women on a pedestal on the dance floor. It was a Riverview like I have never seen! The details were unforgettable just like Scott and Michelle. They were toasted, cheered, and showered with love all night which couldn’t have gone to a more deserving couple. We were so excited and honored to have been part of such an exciting and memorable day. Enjoy the photos….
