Jake and I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while. We had a great time doing Alex and Rachel’s engagement shoot. Their personalities are infectious, so we expected a fun wedding with lots of laughs and festivities. We were definitely not disappointed. Both families were excited for this couple to join in marriage and all guests were ready for a great party. It was also nice for us since we know Alex’s family. Jake grew up in the same town and has known the family for years. In fact, we will be joining them again for Alex’s brother’s wedding next summer.

Both the ceremony and the reception were at Temple Emanu-El. It was a completely unexpected and amazing venue for a wedding. It was like no other synagogue I have experienced as far as a reception location is concerned. The temple was beautiful as well as the reception hall. Once the ceremony was over and guests were treated to an outdoor cocktail hour and indoor sit down dinner. One could have easily forgotten that he or she was in a synagogue.

Alex and Rachel couldn’t have been happier on their wedding day. The joy was written on their faces in each and every photo. And these two are photogenic, so there are plenty of gorgeous photos of the two of them. Every moment of the day that we caught a glimpse of them with the camera, a smile was still covering their faces. They were beaming from their first look before the ceremony through the last dance of the night. They even brought their A game with a choreographed first dance, which brought smiles and laughter to everyone else as well.

This couple incorporated all of the Jewish wedding traditions, but they did it with their own fun flair. The band had everyone up dancing and the floor was packed! When it came time for the horah, all of their guests were up on their feet and not an inch of the floor was left empty. You get a great sense from the photos just how many people wanted to join in and celebrate Alex’s and Rachel’s marriage. The party didn’t stop from the moment it was kicked off right to the last minute. Jake and I were honored to have been a part of the day. Thanks to both of you and your families for including us. We can’t wait for the next wedding next summer!
