This wedding day was 10 years in the making. Matt and Jackie grew up together and began dating in high school. Over the years they have grown as individuals and as a couple. Together they have forged their own path in life. How they live and how they love came to life in an amazing DIY wedding. These two did it all with some help from their friends and family. They worked hard to make the day memorable, and all their hard work came together beautifully. The details were gorgeous and personal. It was nice to see all the love from their family and friends.
This day had it all. Thanks to the weather forecast, Jackie and Matt made the last minute decision to see each other before the wedding. We started our photos in the sun, but we watch the storm clouds roll in. With each passing moment we captured as many photos as we could outdoors before everyone hid away in the barn. Jackie had placed a quote by Vivian Greene in the bridal suite that just kept running through my head throughout the day. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain…” These two got their dance in the rain.
Although rain came down in buckets, everyone stayed calm and patient. The skies opened and the sun started shining. These two were able to share the vows they wrote for each other under the trees just as they envisioned, and the rest of the day was perfect. Guests were entertained by live music from friends and an entirely plant based meal. With the help of Z Catering and The Sweet Beet, both located in Granby, CT, Jackie and Matt were able to have a Vegan meal and wedding cake. It was so nice to see who Jackie and Matt are as a couple shine through in all the parts of their wedding day. We feel truly lucky to have been apart of this day.
