The Wedding

Charles and Jodi’s October wedding at the Hillstead museum was full of emotion, absolutely gorgeous, and so much fun! Not only was it their dream day, but it was ours as well. For us, we worked with a vendor dream team. Kalee of KM Events is a tremendous partner leading up to and during the wedding day. In addition to Kalee, we love nothing more than to work alongside Kevin as he works his video magic. Guests dined on some of the best wedding food we have had courtesy of Max Catering while Pure Love Bakery baked a delicious AND gluten free cake. Frank and Marty kept the guests dancing the entire night with their entertainment . While there are so many great things to say about the reception team, I think Father Glen deserves a mention as well. He was one of the kindest, most engaging, (and youngest) priests that we have met. And last but not least, we have to give a huge thank you to the wedding party. It takes time to organize 23 people and everyone was patient, helpful, and up for anything. It was truly a joy to be a part of this wedding.

This wedding was on peak weekend for foliage in Connecticut. We think the Hillstead grounds speak for themselves. They look amazing all year, but they truly shine during the fall. There was beautiful color in every direction. The tent and the details were well complemented by the colors of the foliage. Jodi and Charles chose a simple, but truly elegant, black and white color scheme to let the natural beauty of the season shine. One of the favorite touches was the choice of black chiavari chairs.

We loved Jodi the moment we met her. We have been photographing Jodi’s sister’s family for the past few years.  A couple years ago Jodi came along to help with their dog. She danced and laughed alongside us as we coaxed her nieces into photos. So we were so excited when she reached out to us to photograph their wedding. As a couple, they are both warm and genuine people who were surrounding by so many people who love them. It was easy to see why. They were so full of love and happiness on their wedding day. You could see the happiness on both of their faces. There were even some surprise tears of joy throughout the day. Jodi and Charles were never far from each other dancing and hugging the night away. It was such an honor to capture all the moments of this truly special wedding.
