Jake and I were incredibly excited for this wedding. Although I will admit it was a bittersweet day. Katherine is the youngest of three girls. All of whom we adore. We have photographed each of their weddings, which were all gorgeous, fun, and full of love. This family now feels like family. So going into the wedding day, I was a little sad knowing it would be the last. It is families and weddings like these that make our job even more enjoyable. It has been so nice to create a connection with the family and be present at all the weddings.
We met Ryan years ago at the first wedding, and we instantly liked him. So we could not have been more excited when Katherine asked us to photograph their wedding. We were even more touched when she said she couldn’t imagine a family wedding without us. We love all the photos from the day. As you will see, I had a hard time keeping the photos to a minimum. So we hope everyone equally enjoys them.
This wedding was gorgeous from start to finish. Katherine and Ryan looked amazing. The flowers, the colors, and the details were stunning. Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford is grandiose, colorful, and warm which fit so perfectly with the rest of the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony to witness.
Katherine is from the Hartford area, so she was excited to incorporate some of the city in her photos. Since daylight savings had just occurred, we took a few quick photos outside the church and stopped traffic on Pratt Street before we lost all the light for the day. The rest of the photos were taken inside Hartford City Hall.
The reception was held at the Delamar in West Hartford. If you have not visited any of the Delamar Hotels, I highly recommend checking any or all of them out. We have photographed at all of them, and they are all impeccably done. Delmar West Hartford is new hotel and they did an beautiful job with the décor. In fact, if it was possible I would move in. The ballroom is beautiful. And for those who find food important, Delamar Events never disappoints when it comes to cuisine.
Guests were entertained by well delivered speeches, music from Charisma, and the much-loved and traditional performance of Mustang Sally by a family friend. Katherine was so excited about this performance that she even sent him a singing message requesting the performance. He so kindly played it for everyone to hear! We really enjoyed meeting Ryan’s family and all their friends. Now that this event has come and gone, we expect to meet all the newest additions to the family soon! Katherine and Ryan, thank you so much for including us in your amazing wedding. We had such fun documenting your day and we can’t wait to hear about all your adventures in the future.
