It is hard to believe it, but it has been far more than a decade since Jake and I started photographing weddings. Throughout the years we have seen many wedding trends. And it is always fun to see what’s next. However, with the pandemic, we saw a new trend that we hope is here to stay. We saw couples getting married in non-traditional ways. Because so many original plans had to be altered, we saw couples embracing their want versus should. This is so important with your wedding. There is no right way or wrong way to exchange vows. There is only your way. You are starting a life together, and it should be exactly what you want, even if it is just the two of you on top of a mountain. Felice and Harrison continued the alternative trend with their spring wedding at the Delamar in West Hartford, CT.
Felice and Harrison embraced this idea and had a non-traditional twist to their day. They were already married the week before the reception. Felice and Harrison had a gorgeous party with family and friends at the Delamar in West Hartford. However, they exchanged vows in their backyard with just their immediate family the week before. They wanted it private and intimate. Even though guests arrived for just the reception, they didn’t have any less fun! When it came time to celebrate, it was a beautiful celebration. Felice looked stunning. The Delamar hosted a fantastic event, and the band kept everyone moving all night. We had such a fun time watching them share their joy with family and friends. We love that they did things a little different but true to themselves.
